The Shanti Shed is owned and run by me, Francesca Ferguson Aleman, for both Yoga and Reiki sessions. I am a fully qualified RYT200 yoga teacher, as well as being registered to Yoga Alliance and a Reiki Master. I am a busy mummy to twin toddlers as well as being a Chemistry Teacher. I find my zen in teaching others how to make the most of their practise and having a good giggle along the way.
Yoga asana practise is taught in one of two styles. Dynamic Vinyasa Flow Yoga which builds up both strength and stamina. As well as being an energising workout it reduces stress and tension, bringing your physical and mental body back together. The evening sessions are designed to promote a good nights sleep and are a perfect mid-week pick-me-up.
Yygge® Hygge Yoga (pronounced yoo-gah) is a perfect combination of Hygge, the Danish art of cosiness and restorative yoga. A gentle form of yoga with its roots in yin, the class is candlelit, the pace is slow and the tea flows freely. As it’s developer, The Shanti Shed is the only provider of Yygge® in the world.
I am a qualified Reiki Master. Reiki can be described as acupuncture without the needles and is used to reset the body’s energy flow. Recognised worldwide as a complementary medecine, Reiki is an effective non-invasive way to encourage the body to heal itself*. It is best performed in your own home where you are most comfortable, and sessions usually last one hour. It can be performed in a hands on or hands off style.
*Please note that this is NOT an alternative medicine, it merely encourages the body to heal itself more quickly. All doctor’s advice should be adhered to throughout, including the taking of any medication.
